About Money Tracker Daily
Money Tracker Daily publishes live trackers for money data people check again and again: benefit payment dates, rates, and layoff filings.
What we publish
Each tracker is a single page at a permanent address that updates in place. It shows the current values in a table, when they last changed, what changed, a chart, the source, and a methodology section. We also send a short weekday email, the Daily Money Brief, listing what changed in the trackers.
We don't publish news stories, opinions, forecasts or financial advice.
Where the data comes from
Every value comes from a named primary source, such as the Social Security Administration, Freddie Mac, the FDIC or a state labor department, and each page links to it. Current trackers:
- Social Security Payment Dates: Social Security Administration — Schedule of Social Security Benefit Payments (Publication 05-10031)
- Social Security COLA: Social Security Administration — Cost-of-Living Adjustments
- Mortgage Rates (30-Year and 15-Year Fixed): Freddie Mac — Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS)
- Savings and CD Rates (National Averages): FDIC — National Rates and Rate Caps
- California Layoffs (WARN Notices): California Employment Development Department — WARN Report
- Fed Funds Rate (FOMC Target Range): Federal Reserve Board — Open Market Operations and FOMC calendars; Federal Reserve Bank of New York — Effective Federal Funds Rate
- Florida Layoffs (WARN Notices): FloridaCommerce — Rapid Response WARN notices
- Federal Tax Brackets and Standard Deduction: Internal Revenue Service — Revenue Procedures and inflation adjustment releases
- Inflation by Category (CPI): U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics — Consumer Price Index (CPI-U)
- Gas Prices by State and Region: U.S. Energy Information Administration — Weekly Retail Gasoline and Diesel Prices
- New York Layoffs (WARN Notices): New York State Department of Labor — WARN Dashboard
How it is produced
Software collects each source on a schedule, extracts the values, and checks them before anything is published: values must be present, in a plausible range, consistent with the source's own rules, and not change more than a set amount from the previous value. If a check fails, the page keeps its last verified data, says so, and the editor is alerted. Pages are generated from templates; no AI writes tracker values. See our editorial standards and methodology for details.
